Redesigned Launch DePaul Rewards Students for Business Progress
Launch DePaul, an annual business contest for student entrepreneurs, crowned its champion this spring in a redesigned competition. Media Revamp, a media conversion and production service headed by a current DePaul University student, took top honors and a prize package including cash and mentoring services. In past years, the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center has used Launch DePaul to reward teams for the most promising business plan. This year, the center changed the format to be more about progress.

Student-Led Media Revamp Wins Business Contest Prize
David FinsethFor DePaul University student David Finseth, Launch DePaul 2012 was a second chance. “I declined to enter Launch DePaul last year and felt like I really missed out on a great opportunity,” says Finseth, a second-year student studying theater arts and animation. “After seeing all of the previous year’s participants grow their companies, I really got serious about entering.” Entering eventually led to winning: Finseth’s venture, Media Revamp, was the sole victor of the seventh annual Launch DePaul, a new venture competition sponsored by DePaul’s Coleman Entrepreneurship Center.

His donation will further academic excellence in the College of Commerce by supporting top business faculty. In recognition of Driehaus’s partnership with the university, DePaul will rename the college the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University.
